While we have a guide for making your own google doc calendar for your chapter, we also have a blank one you can use and add your own details (saving you the effort of making tables and formatting).
How to use our template
Click on the links to download one of our google doc templates
- Blank 2027 Calendar – has 2027 dates added to each month
- Blank dateless Calendar – no month days marked (Month boxes are blank, you’ll need to add your own date numbers in)
Click on “File” and choose to “Make a copy”

This is an important step because you can’t make edits to the original file (because that’s owned by “Aussie Hatting” and stored on the AH google account) – by making a copy, you are making a version of that file on YOUR google account, which allows you to make changes to it.
Now that you have your copy, you can make your edits.
Put your cursor on the “Chapter name” and delete that to add your chapter’s name. You can also fill in the other details and add/remove anything you like.

We have the “RSVP HERE” section to add a link to a google Form that will collect RSVPs for you. Learn how to do that here. You can use an email address or phone number there instead or delete that line.
The first part of the calendar is a whole year split into 4 lines for each month. It’s designed to add the date, time and then a brief description of the activity for that day eg “Lunch at Stamford Hotel (Rowville)”
If you need more lines for more hoot dates, put your cursor in one of the lines, right click and select “insert row”. If you have fewer than 4 activities and want to delete a blank row, use the option to delete a row.

Further down the page under the full year calendar, each month has a section with a single month calendar. You can put your cursor in the box (cell) and type in something to mark which dates your activities are on.

If you want to change the colour of a day to make it more obvious (or to colour code different things), make sure the cursor is in the box you want to colour, then click on the 3 dots in the top menu, then select the paint can icon “background colour”. Choose the colour you want it to be and it will colour that cell in the table for you.

There are spaces below the calendar for you to put in all the detail for that activity. Recommended to give members the info like:
- Title of the activity
- Location (address if applicable)
- Time and date
- Cost
- What the activity will be
- Anything they need to bring
- If there’s limited spots or a cutoff date for RSVPs
This is what your calendar might look like once it’s filled out

If you make a mistake and want to undo something you’ve done, there’s an “undo” button in the top menu which will reverse the last thing you did (you can keep clicking it to undo more than one thing)
