Sometimes it’s fun to offer a “Lucky Door Prize” to attendees at an event. This can be just a small prize or something larger, something themed to your event or a general Hatting theme.
Here’s some suggestions for how to award a Lucky Door Prize.
-
If the event is not allocated seating, stick the word “winner” or a cutout of a red hat, or a red ribbon under a chair at random, then during the event ask the ladies to stand up and look under their chairs to see who is the winner.
-
Place a special sticker on the back of a placemat at random, then ask the ladies to look under their placemats to see who got the sticker.
-
Give everyone a raffle ticket when they enter, and then draw a winner from a hat
You could have 1 lucky door prize, or a couple of door prizes. At a larger event with multiple attendees you could have a collection of different prizes and let the winners choose which prize they would like. It can be fun If you have a table with a bunch of small items and draw several winners, letting them come one at a time to choose something from the table. They could all be wrapped so they do not know the contents, or left unwrapped so they can choose something they would like.
